I phone lovers rejoice! I am obsessed with my I phone which I’m sure you all are as well. So I was excited to hear about the Ibridalgown wedding app. ($3.99) It keeps track of your favorite dresses , you can upload pictures and organize! Because let’s face it, at the end of the day, they all start to run together and you need a little help to remember. This app is perfect for any bride who plans to try on a dress or two!

Today was a first for the city of Orlando and an amazing step forward for the bridal show industry in Central Florida. Downtown Orlando was host to the 1st annual “I Do Downtown Bridal Crawl”. 9 premier downtown wedding venues partnered together to create a truly unique and modern bridal show experience for over 300 participants. Attendees started their bridal crawl journey by registering at the History Center where they received their passes to tour all the wedding venues. For $10 brides and grooms had access to sample food and beverage at each location as well as meet with floral, entertainment and décor providers in a more intimate setting than your typical bridal show in a ballroom. They were able to see examples of room set ups, touch the flowers, taste the food & cocktails and hear the music. Cold weather could not keep these excited couples away and hot toddies were ready to greet them!

Something Borrowed of course was at the host venue, the History Center, where guests sampled delights from The Coordinator and were surrounded by décor reflecting the seasons of the year. Marc Burgess Productions provided the music for the day and Room Service Rentals supplied the comfy lounge furniture for the cocktail reception and my area.

Brides we spoke to enjoyed that this show was “hands on” and much more relaxed than the normal bridal show. They were able to learn more about vendor services and book appointments for the coming weeks without feeling rushed to visit hundreds of tables. Congratulations to the ladies of History Center for thinking out of the box and starting a new downtown trend! Cheers!

Have your Sweets & Eat them too! So many new trends in sweets these days there is no need to feel trapped into having just a cake. From gelato bars, nitrogen ice cream made on the spot, mini desserts, action dessert stations, butler passed ice cream cones & freshly made donuts with coffee really show the sky is the limit for sweets. One of my ultimate favorite indugences is Sweet! in Waterford Lakes, they have the best mini cupcakes. Even when it isn’t wedding time they offer Mini Mondays where these delights are only $1! They can customize cupcakes to your wedding colors, add monograms and much more. Why settle for just one flavor of cake when you can have a cascade of cupcakes!

The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne was the backdrop for Taylor and Travis’s truly picturesque wedding on Sunday, October 25th, 2009. Taylor’s vision was always an intimate garden wedding with a reception under the stars. We could not have asked for better weather that day for the afternoon ceremony.

Lee Forrest put his beautiful touches on the floral including the breathtaking bouquet and hair piece for the bride. Damon Tucci Photography was on hand to capture the day and each special moment for the bride and groom.

Taylor & Travis joined the cocktail reception and were able to visit with all their guests prior to dinner and were able to relax and enjoy the big day. DJ Darin of Fun Factory Entertainment had the guests dancing all night including a choreographed dance to Sweet Caroline preformed by the groom’s brother and father in top hats & canes! The evening was completed with a Colts groom’s cake from Sprinkles representing the groom’s favorite football team and a serenade of the bride by all the male wedding guests. It was truly a night to remember for Taylor, Travis, their family & friends.

Chocolate & Wine Girls night! What a perfect idea for a bachelorette, shower and just a girls night. Farris and Fosters in Baldwin Park is where we hosted our chocolate night and had a wonderful time. You make a pound of chocolate (all calorie and fat free of course) and use your creative juices to create masterpieces.

I made truffles, peanut cups, my own version of mounds and my favorite, dark chocolate covered potato chips! It was a perfect setting for the girls to laugh enjoy a glass (or two) or wine and brie which you are allowed to bring in your own. We felt just like Lucy and Ethel in the chocolate shop, only our creations came out much better. If your creative juices just aren’t flowing you can always buy the fabulous pre-made candies and claim them as your own!
